Since
this couple was commissioned for a wedding present, I wanted to incorporate
important elements from the idea of marriage - namely, communication
and empathy.
Consequently, both characters' mouths are open, to give the impression they are chattering away. In regards to empathy, I switched the eyes so that she has one of his and he has one of hers. Their arms are wired so they can flail around, sometimes hugging, sometimes smacking one another (um, playfully, of course, yes). The fabric for their clothing reminded me of the yin/yang design which stresses the importance of balance in life and love. Our duo has matching tattoos on their hands that reflect this as well. |
